With plans to compete in international competition, Ouverture Sport Horses was looking for a fresh take on their existing branding; specifically their logo. The new logo must deliver a sophisticated and simple design that is easily recognisable and read while also maintaining the existing colour palette, font choices and iconography. The logo must include ‘AU’ or ‘Australia’ so it is recognised when competing internationally and the brand must be easily read and recognised on a moving horse as it to be printed on the saddle pads. As well as this, the logo must include the ‘IS Crown’ icon.
Approaching this brief, I took the elements from the original logo that were to be kept and trialled various arrangements of these elements in new layouts. I eliminated the emblem design of the existing logo and instead produced a clean and simple solution with a heavy focus on the text to make the brand name as recognisable and readable as possible.
